Great Dakota Gathering This annual community event is a reminder of the life-respecting, water respecting culture that was based in our area at the time of European settlement. The event is held at Unity Park on the south shore of Lake Winona each September and is open to all.
Citizen Stream Monitoring Program Volunteer stream monitors are a critical component of Minnesota’s Water Quality Strategy. The program provides valuable data to researchers who monitor our streams. It also offers meaningful ways to get outdoors, observe and interact. The program combines the knowledge and commitment of citizens with the technical resources of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
Go Fishing or Hiking! It’s easy in this watershed. Pull on your boots, grab a pole and get outdoors. To get inspired, take a look at Justin Carroll’s beautiful photos and local fishing exploration stories at WinonaFlyFactory.com .
